Clear water tip: It is plants, not filters that will keep your pond clear of algae. If you have enough plants to use all the nutrients in the pond water, there will be nothing left for algae to 'eat' and it will die. Having a good mix of submerged plants, marginals and floaters is easier than constantly cleaning algae-clogged filters and they are certainly more beautiful than green water!
Note: Filters are effective against brown or muddy water, but plants are the best bet against algae - What color is your pond?
